Barnesville Grand Prix Information

The Barnesville Grand Prix is a four-race event based solely on participation. Participants’ finishing times, place, age group location, etc. are completely irrelevant. The only criteria are that participants have registered and actually participated in the event.

This Grand Prix is funded by the Barnesville Quad-Race Committee and is supported by the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Joe’s Tires, and Parker & Parker Insurance. Please thank them for supporting us by supporting them.

Ryan Ferns Healthplex Grand Prix Series.

In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles throughout the Ohio Valley, the Ryan Ferns healthplex and the Ohio Valley Runners’ and Walkers’ Club announce “The Ryan Ferns Healthplex” Grand Prix Run/Walk Series.

This series provides extra incentive for all ages and abilities to walk or run in a community race. By registering for the series (This is an important step: You must register) we seek to encourage and recognize participation and performance in local racing through a points system.

Runners and walkers will accumulate points for every event they complete in the participation category. Once they accumulate 10 points, they are automatically eligible for Grand Prix Race Series banquet held in January.

Points will also be awarded for top 10 finishers at each event based on the age category participants are entered into for the Grand Prix Series. At the end of the race series, awards will be given to the top three finishers overall in their age divisions at the banquet held in January.

For more information or to register for the series, please go to www.ovgrandprix.com

You can participate in as many races as you can. Your top ten “scores” are used. Unlike the Barnesville Grand Prix, YOU MUST REGISTER for this at the above web site. It only takes a few minutes.

Ohio Valley Trail Series.

Ohio Valley Trail Series

The Ohio Valley Trail Series (OVTS) is a mini-series comprised of three (non-paved) trail races. Our goal is to promote the beauty of nature, offer an alternative to “just” road racing, to promote trail running & walking, and of course, to advertise each individual race. Every year we offer an incentive for those individuals who complete all three events. In 2012, we had 15 people complete the series. Each was given a pair of running gloves. In 2013, that number jumped up to 40! All of these people got a custom T-shirt. Who knows how many people we can get to experience nature’s beauty. We invite you to be a part of this series:
